Eminem will have no problem holding on to the top spot on the Billboard 200 album chart next week despite a sort-of major new release.
R&B hitmaker The-Dream released his third album, Love King, the wrap-up to his trilogy of love-y dovey albums, and according to industry trade publication Hits Daily Double, the album is receiving no love at retailers. The set is expected to move 55-60k in its first week out.
Where the shabby sum will put Love King on the chart is still a mystery. The No. 1 and 2 spots will undoubtedly belong to Eminem’s Recovery, expected to remain strong with sales of 320-340k, and Drake‘s Thank Me Later, which is predicted to sell between 115-125k in its third week out.
It’s a fight for the No. 3 spot; the soundtrack to Twilight: Eclipse is expected to pull in the same total as Love King.
